Kim Adkins is a recent graduate from Eastern Michigan University. She obtained a Bachelor's Degree with a double major in Elementary Education and Early Childhood Education. Kim is certified to teach Kindergarten through 5th grade in all areas. Previously she worked at Childtime Learning Center where she spent most of her time as lead pre-k teacher.
Outside of work, Kim loves spending time with her son and husband. They love to spend time camping up north with their friends and family. They also love to take their 2 dogs, Lola and Marvel, on walks around the neighborhood.
Kim is inspired as a teacher when students are thoroughly enjoying learning and she can see she is making a difference in their education. She wants her students to find a love for learning. When they find that excitement, it inspires her to work even harder for her students.
Kim is excited to help lay the foundation for the rest of her future students educational journey. As well as spend the year exploring, learning, with her new students as well as having a lot of fun!
Kim loves Catholic Schools because they educate the whole child: intellectually, spiritually, physically, and socially and emotionally. She states "This is important because it nurtures and supports all areas of children’s development and learning." Another thing Kim believes is that Catholic School virtues are instilled in the children. Respect, discipline, and diligence are necessary to meet the standards of the rigorous curriculum.
Welcome Kim! We are excited to have you join our Laker Family!
