On Saturday, November 11, OLL Robotics 5th grade team, The Water Warriors, competed in the First Lego League tournament at the Michigan Science Center in downtown Detroit against 22 other teams from throughout Michigan. In about 8 weeks of practices, the team built an autonomous robot that competed in four mission runs during the competition. They also completed a project that raised over $1000 in donations to purchase and install a water bottle filling station at Our Lady of the Lakes. As a result of their efforts, the team won the Innovative Solution Award. Team members Aiden Papke, Diesel Rodriguez, Molly Ronquillo and Nikki Voto will continue working with OLL administration and other school organizations to make their project a reality.
