It’s that time of year to prepare for our Thanksgiving Holiday Food Baskets for Holy Redeemer Parish in Detroit. We are graciously asking for your help.
The deadline for receiving contributions is Monday morning, November 23rd at 8:00 a.m. at the Parish Center.
We are collecting frozen turkeys or a monetary contribution to cover the cost of purchasing one. We are planning to provide a minimum 25 Thanksgiving baskets which include a turkey and all of the trimmings for the holiday meal. The hope is that we will exceed that goal. We are also looking for either fruit or pumpkin pies to accompany the baskets. The pies should not require refrigeration and must be purchased due to health department requirements.
Pies for Manna Soup Kitchen
Please consider purchasing single serve fruit or pumpkin pies for Thanksgiving for our outreach to Manna Soup Kitchen in Detroit. We have been told that fruit pies are preferred by the guests. Due to COVID-19
restrictions, Manna is only allowed to serve “to go” meals and is asking for single serve pies to make it easy for their patrons. Again, pies should not need refrigeration and must be store bought to comply with health department regulations.
Pies may be dropped off at the parish center on:
Friday, November 20th
Monday, November 23rd
Tuesday, November 24th
Manna Soup Kitchen depends solely on Our Lady of the Lakes for all the desserts for their Thanksgiving meal, so your support is greatly appreciated.
