“Edward Rapa is an amazing soul the likes of which Lakes may never see again. He has a unique spirit and is dedicated to every cause he becomes a part of. This is a student who arranges his day to drive a fellow student home and then come back to the school to tutor another student as part of his NHS commitment. As a member of the Student Council, he fulfilled his treasury duties to the utmost, insisting on going to the parish center to meet the person who assists with our accounting so he could deliver his reimbursements in person. As a tutor, he had endless patience to work with his protege to get him to think critically about Romeo and Juliet for a paper and spent hours on the task. I heard him offer to meet with him at the library on weekends to finish the work when we ran out of time in Homework Club. He is an exceptional student who radiates kindness and a desire to make the world a better place.”
Mrs. Kotulis put it better than most of us could even try. Rapa will be missed at Our Lady of the Lakes Catholic School and we wish him all the best at the University of Michigan.
