Abie Pennington has been at Our Lady of the Lakes since the first grade. Those who know Abie know what a kind and caring person she is and how she always keeps a smile on her face. Her warmth and optimism can be seen by her favorite quote from Henri Mattisse, “There are always flowers for those who want to see them.”
Abie has participated in a number of activities throughout her high school career as a Laker. She has been a member of the Student Council and played on the tennis team. Her words of advice to underclassmen are “participate as much as you can, even if you don’t want to.”
Her favorite class while at Lakes was Mr. Kennedy’s Government class. Mr. Kennedy shared a few words about Abie. “Abie is a wonderful person who stands up for what she believes in. I am so excited to where she goes and what she does with this life. I have no doubt that she will be making the world a better place.”
Abie is headed off to Saginaw Valley State University where she plans to study business. She hopes to one day move to a small town somewhere warm and open up her own cafe.
