What Makes OLL Middle School Unique?
For decades, K-8 Catholic schools in Metro Detroit have been providing amazing opportunities for our young people to grow in faith and develop academically in a family environment. At Our Lady of the Lakes, our students have this amazing opportunity from pre-kindergarten all the way through 12th grade, in one school community. At a time when students are not quite teenagers and have outgrown elementary themes, middle school students at Our Lady of the Lakes receive an education focused specifically on the needs of this age group. With all of the resources of an elementary, middle, and high school readily available.

OLL middle school teachers share in our students faith, and Cathoilc values are interwoven into each day's lesson. Students attend Mass weekly, receive sacraments, and have daily opportunities for prayer with each other, with staff, and with clergy right here on our campus.
Middle school students are at a critical point in their lives. They are laying a foundation for the next 4 years and forming a realistic scope of what good habits and practice looks like. We will provide students the tools needed to succeed freshman year. We provide leveled coursework, allowing students to take advanced coursework in the 6th, 7th and 8th grade, and begin their pathway to success.
Using a team approach, our teachers support multiple levels of each subject area, allowing students to receive the appropriate accommodations or challenges where needed. Students can expand their learning through a variety of teacher-led enrichment opportunities, as well as support through intervention, study hall, and robust student services.
We believe in our students, and focus heavily on teaching our students to believe in themselves. We encourage our students to think positively about how challenges and practice can improve their abilities. Students must learn how to improve, before they can improve.
We are a family at Our Lady of the Lakes. We lean heavily into collaboration and teamwork in our middle school. 7th and 8th graders have both grade level classes where it is relevant, such as religion, and mixed classes where students can collaborate and share their academic journey with their peers. Students also participate in team building activities, dances, and field trips together.
