Valerie lives in Clarkston with her wonderful husband Paul. She is a mother of two amazing boys, Paul and Caden. She enjoys spending time with family, camping, cooking, and mountain biking. This is her seventh year teaching. Valerie graduated from Eastern Michigan University with a major in Mathematics and a minor in Integrated Science. She recently graduated from Oakland University with her masters in Educational studies in the leadership program.
Valerie is inspired by reaching goals she sets out for herself. She likes to set out to learn new things or reach something she has been working towards. "It feels incredible when you achieve something you worked so hard to accomplish", says Valerie. She is also inspired by her mother as family is extremely important to her. Her mother is a strong individual who raised six children and is now an incredible grandmother. Valerie's mom has been there for her every step of the way, having her best interest at heart. She is always in her corner and very encouraging.
Valerie is most excited to show the students the love for learning that she has and help the students grow individually and academically. She is eager to have a positive impact on the students and spark their curiosity for learning. Valerie is excited to bring out creativity, imaginations, and excitement of exploring and learning new thingsand to build lasting memories with her students to cherish for a lifetime.
Valerie enjoys being at a Catholic school because of the safe, supportive, and loving environment. Being in a Catholic school helps students build self-esteem and confidence. Catholic schools have a wonderful community of families that help support one another. "I love the ability to pray together during mass and throughout the school day. Students are nurtured in the faith also with having high academic standards to help support the whole student socially, emotionally, academically, and spiritually", says Valerie.
Welcome Valerie. We are extremely excited to have you as a part of our OLL Staff!
