This week Our Lady of the Lakes Catholic School has been celebrating our teachers with Teacher Appreciation Week. At Thursday’s assembly, Lakes also celebrated our students by announcing the Vibe Credit Union Scholarships recipients for the 2019-20 school year.

Once again our friends at Vibe Credit Union (formerly Oakland County Credit Union) gave 13 lucky students, one in each in grade Pre-K through 11, $6,000 in scholarships. Students in Pre-Kindergarten through grade three submitted drawings while those in grades fourth through eleventh submitted 300-word essays. All focused on the question, “What Have I Learned by Helping my Community?” Everyone was a winner, as all who entered received $5.

We appreciate our long-standing relationship with Vibe Credit Union. They visit the school once a month for the students to make deposits and earn prizes. It’s nice how this corporate neighbor continues to come forward to help our community and students.
