On February 9, the Sashabaw Plains Chapter of the National Society Daughters of the American Revolution held their 33rd annual celebration of the DAR Good Citizens Award. The 2019 Our Lady of the Lakes recipient of the award was Abbygayle Hoffman-Wiegand. The staff selected Hoffman-Wiegand based on her exhibition of the qualities of dependability, service, leadership, and patriotism.

Hoffman-Wiegand attended a reception with her family, where she was honored among the other seniors in the Sashabaw Plains region.
