The Our Lady of the Lakes 5/6 Boys CYO Basketball Team picked up their first win on Saturday 19-15 over Notre Dame Marist. Brody Rotter led the Lakers with 12 points and Latane Ware (4 points) and clutch free throw shooting from Diesel Rodriguez (3 points) rounded out the scoring.

Coach Blose commented after the game, “Our boys played incredible defense and they did a much better job handling the ball and limiting turnovers. Every player contributed to this win. Alex Asai and Jack Blose along with our other guards did a great job keeping Notre Dame’s top two players from getting any shots off. Last time we played them they combined to score 13 points. We held them to 7 points today, which was key. We were up 2 points at halftime and I told the boys if they play their best 12 minutes of Laker basketball that they will win this game.”

Lakes looks to make it two straight wins this Saturday, January 26 at 12:15 p.m. at home against Queen of Martyrs.
