The Kids Speak Out contest is sponsored by The Breakfast Optimist Club of Waterford.  This program is designed specifically to provide a way to get younger students involved in pubic speaking.  Students are encouraged to develop writing and speaking skills which will prepare them for higher level competitions in middle and high school.  Judging for the contest has been adapted to meet the needs of elementary students.

The 4th grade contestants: Anna Wisely, Nikki Voto, Coral Weidenbach, Hadley Pearce and Isabella Seth. The 5th grade contestants: Andrew Fergin, Robert Hoffman, Alexandria LeCureux, Ryan Robak and Leo Wilson.

The winners are: 1st place, Robert Hoffman; tied for 2nd place Isabella Seth and Andrew Fergin; 3rd place, Coral Weidenbach
