Our Lady of the Lakes FRC Team 5053 competed in the Belleville District Event over the weekend. With a record of 9 – 3 – 0, the team placed 7th out of 41 teams and was able to complete in the quarter finals. They are currently ranked 82 out of over 500 teams in Michigan. If they qualify, they will advance to the Michigan State Championship taking place April 11-14 at Saginaw Valley State University.

The Laker Robotics team also won the Industrial Design Award, which is sponsored by General Motors. This award celebrates form and function in an efficiently designed machine that effectively addresses the game challenge.
