Why 30 days? According to tradition, St. Joseph died just before Jesus entered into his public ministry. The prayer therefore honors St. Joseph for each of the 30 years he spent with Jesus and Mary on earth.

This prayer can be said during any 30-day period, but to end on the eve of the feast of St. Joseph’s, Ash Wednesday is a perfect time to to turn to him asking his help and guidance for all your needs, the needs of your family, loved ones, friends, and all those in need of prayer.

St. Joseph is the patron of the Universal Church, unborn children, fathers, workers, travelers, immigrants, a happy death, and many many more. Consider your request as you prepare for this novena.
